Description

In July of 2009, Zac Sunderland succeeded in becoming the youngest person in history to sail around the world alone. Against all odds, Zac braved storms, loneliness, mechanical break downs and even suspected pirates – uncertainties that tested him to his very limits. Zac accomplished his dream at the age of 17, sailing 27,827 miles around the world aboard his 36′ Islander sailboat ‘Intrepid’. In this documentary you will discover how Zac overcame the trials, tribulations and imminent dangers associated with his epic 13 month adventure.
Intrepid: The Zac Sunderland Story – Part 1 includes footage and interviews from Zac’s early days growing up sailing with his family. It will take the viewer across the Pacific to Hawaii and the Marshall Islands and Zac’s emergency stop in Papua New Guinea. You’ll watch as Zac braves the infamous, coral-laden Torres Strait, see Zac dive with crocodiles and learn to play the didgeridoo in Darwin, Australia.
