    Meet Your Guide

Hello! I’m Marianne Sunderland. I’m the mom of seven beyond-the-box learners. I’ve been on a journey of educating my unique learners for over 27 years.

Over the years, I have learned much through research and classes, eventually becoming a certified Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia tutor. My books, Dyslexia 101, What is Dyslexia, and No More School, have helped thousands of parents and teachers understand learning differences.

I am thrilled to be offering personalized coaching to parents and teachers who desire to give their unique and gifted yet struggling learners the gift of understanding and empowerment.

    Here’s What You’ll Learn…

    Z

    1. What kinds of learning to prioritize during each age range.

Kids with learning differences learn on a different timeline than traditional learners. Individualizing your child’s learning by being able to teach your kids at their level is one of the huge benefits of homeschooling. However, many homeschool parents are overwhelmed by feelings of being behind or not getting enough done. This session will help you to develop clear, meaningful priorities for your unique family’s needs.

    2. Which teaching methods and curriculum are a good fit for your children.

Homeschooling also allows parents the freedom to use curriculum and methods that best fit their kids’ unique learning needs. You will learn how to choose methods and curricula that provide a targeted and individualized learning environment for your kids. You will also learn tips and tricks for modifying any curriculum so that your kids are being appropriately challenged while they learn at home.

    3. How to handle common problem areas unique to each stage of learning.

Let’s be honest. Teaching kids with language-based learning difficulties isn’t always easy. In this session, we will troubleshoot problem areas you are experiencing.

    4. Begin to form a clear plan for your homeschool.

Use the information from the past sessions combined with assessments of your own homeschool to plan for next semester. You can have a more peaceful, purposeful homeschool!

    Success Stories

Here is what others are saying about the Summer Coaching Intensives:

After the summer coaching intensive, I have the confidence to teach my highschooler with dyslexia, ADHD, and anxiety at home!

    - Carol B.

I felt inadequate to teach my child. I felt like I was failing him and that we were so far behind. After the summer coaching intensive, I feel more confident that my child is learning normally for a child with learning differences and that I am doing many of the right things. I have tools and strategies to teach him and a better mindset of how to look at an outside the box education.

    - Julie S.

Before the summer coaching intensive with Marianne, I had a lack of confidence, anxiety, uncertainty, hopelessness, and felt alone. I felt like I wasn’t doing enough, or that I was failing my child.

I now have the confidence to focus on the priorities for my child at his age. My anxiety to “catch him up!” has lessened. I feel better equipped to organize a plan for the year.

I didn’t expect to feel my experiences confirmed by other moms. I didn’t expect that I would need to turn off the video at times so that I could ugly cry, or to hear other moms have the exact same experience and know that I wasn’t alone.

This is some of the best money I’ve ever spent in our journey of helping our son with profound dyslexia. I received very specific guidance, Marianne helped me make an important decision, I got tools I can implement, and I also no longer feel alone in our struggles.

    - Laura A.

Before the summer coaching intensive, I was discouraged about teaching my kids with dyslexia and ADHD at home.

I got far more out of it than I expected. The micro coaching to my personal situation was especially helpful.

I loved Marianne’s examples from her own kids, links to different resources, and hearing others questions and how Marianne answered them.
